TISHA
B'AV: DAY OF MISFORTUNE
August 3rd a time
of mourning and prayer
On
Tisha B'Av (9th day of the month of Av-- Sunset Wednesday, Aug.
2 through Sunset Thursday, Aug. 3) we mourn the numerous atrocities
committed against the Jewish people throughout the centuries,
and pray for the welfare of all the k'lal Yisrael (community of
Israel worldwide). On this date both Solomon's and Herod's Temples
in Jerusalem were destroyed. Let this date be a time for you to
stand by Israel by fasting & praying for her during this difficult
time. Our sanctuary will be open for prayer all day (9-5) on Thursday
the 3rd. We hope to see you there.

WHERE WE'VE BEEN
B'rit
representatives share in area churches
We are always pleased when we're invited somewhere to share.
Here's where we've been recently:
Dr. Allen Raich,
one of our elders, and his daughter Rachel spoke
to 2 youth groups at Colonial Hills Church in Southaven, MS.
Deaconess Lenora Runge taught Davidic dance to
folks at Faith Anglican Church for their annual Vacation Bible
School.
If you belong to another
congregation apart from B'rit Hadasha and would like to discuss
someone coming to your church or organization, please contact
our office at (901) 685-9267.

WHAT'S NU ?
Recent &
Upcoming events, etc.
In July
we enjoyed a week with Israeli educator Dr. David Friedman,
who was the featured speaker at the Pifer Lectureship. Elders
Allen Raich and Bill Becraft were guest speakers as well. Rabbi
Gary attended the Tikkun Weekend Institute in Nashville and
the annual conference of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations.
We had a special evening of praise & worship and held a
class on Encountering the Cults and Other Religions.
In August
we will observe Tisha B'Av, host a dance workshop on the 5th,
have an immersion service on the 12th, our Mid-Year Business
Mtg. on the 19th, a Hebrew Workshop on the 21st, special guest
Dr. Daniel Juster on the 26th, and Corporate Prayer on the 30th.
Don't forget, there will be a pot-bless meal following service
this Saturday, Aug. 5th!
