ABOUT RABBI DR. JOHN FISCHER
John
Fischer, Ph.D., Th.D., is known internationally as a prominent leader
among Messianic Jews (Jewish followers of Jesus). The son of Holocaust
survivors, Dr. Fischer was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1946. An author,
scholar, educator and spiritual leader, Dr. Fischer has earned multiple
degrees and served in numerous leadership roles.
He has a B.S.
from Philadephia College of the Bible, M.S. from Temple University,
M.A. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, B.J.S. in Jewish Thought
from Spertus College of Judaica, a Ph.D. in Education/Religion from
the University of South Florida, and a Th.D. in Judaic Studies from
the California Graduate School of Theology.
Dr. Fischer
has traveled internationally as a teacher and has lectured at numerous
colleges and universities across the country. He currently (2005)
serves as the Vice President of Academic Affairs at St. Petersburg
Theological Seminary, is Vice President of the Union of Messianic
Jewish Congregations, and is Rosh Yeshiva (Head of School) of the
Netzer David International Yeshiva. He is ordained as a Rabbi with
the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations, leads Congregation Ohr
Chadash in Clearwater, Florida, and is the Director of Menorah Ministries.
Dr. Fischer is listed in Who’s Who in America, and
is included in the Registry of Outstanding Professionals.
