We’re fast approaching the High Holy Days and Fall Festivals for 5779 (2018). Don’t miss the chance to celebrate ADONAI’s appointed times and experience what they mean for all believers!

Below are the services, times, and locations. Shabbat services will be at the normal time, 10:30am. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the office at (901) 685-9267.

  • Sep 9 (Sun) @ 6:30 pm – Erev Rosh Hashanah (Evening of “Feast of Trumpets”)
      • Service will be following by an Apples and Honey Oneg (“joyful, fellowship gathering”)

  • Sep 10 (Mon) @ 10:30 am – Rosh Hashanah (“Feast of Trumpets”)
      • Service will be followed by a Tashlich (“cast off”) service nearby on the Wolf River

  • Sep 15 (Sat) @ 10:30 am – Shabbat Shuvah (“Sabbath of Repentance”)
  • Sep 18 (Tue) @ 6:30 pm – Kol Nidre/Erev Yom Kippur (Evening of “Day of Atonement”)
      • Kol Nidre means “all vows” and is a declaration that is traditionally recited before the beginning of Yom Kippur
      • Since the community will be fasting, please don’t bring food or drink into the sanctuary

  • Sep 19 (Wed) @ 10:30 am – Yom Kippur/Yitzkor (“Day of Atonement”)
      • Fasting continues during Yom Kippur service and the following Yitzkor service

  • Sep 19 (Wed) @ 6:30 pm – Ne’ilah/Zichron HaMashiach/Break-Fast
      • As the sun descends, we will hold a Ne’ilah (“closing the gate”) service, followed by Zichron HaMashiach (“”) to break our community fast.
      • Service will be followed by a community break-fast meal. Tickets are $6/person. Click here to register.

  • Sep 22 (Sat) @ 10:30 am – Shabbat Service at B’rit Hadasha
  • Sep 23 (Sun) @ 9:30 am – Community Sukkah Building – tentative: check back for final date/time
  • Sep 23 (Sun) @ 6:30 pm – Erev Sukkot (“Feast of Tabernacles”)
      • Opening commanded assembly for Sukkot
      • Service will be followed by an Ice Cream Oneg (“joyful, fellowship gathering”)

  • Sep 28-30 (Fri-Sun) – Sukkot Family Fun Weekend @ St. Columba
    • St. Columba Retreat Center is located at 4577 Billy Maher Rd, Memphis, TN 38135
    • Fees for campers and non-campers cover activities, meals, and required site fee. Tickets for the weekend are $35/person for campers and $25/person for non-campers. Tickets for Shabbat service and lunch are $10/person. Click here to register.
  • Sep 29 (Sat) @ 10:30 am – Shabbat Chol HaMoed Sukkot
    • Observed on-site at St. Columba—no service at B’rit
  • Sep 29 (Sat) @ 7:30 pm – Erev Hoshana Rabbah (Evening of “Great Hoshana or Supplication”)
    • Observed on-site at St. Columba—no service at B’rit
  • Oct 1 (Mon) @ 6:30 pm – Sh’mini Atzeret & Simchat Torah
      • Closing Sukkot service for Sh’mini Atzeret (“8th Day Assembly”) and Simchat Torah (“Rejoicing in the Torah”)
