In Parashat Vayishlach, we learned that Jacob wrestled with G-d and humans. He was driven by a strong desire for G-d’s blessing, and Adonai changed Jacob’s name to Israel. His character grew stronger as he trusted G-d, and his perseverance helped fulfill G-d’s plans. This story encourages us to hold on to G-d during times of difficulty, as He gave us the greatest blessing—Yeshua—to bless all families, including ours.
This coming week in Parashat Vayeshev, we begin to see G-d’s plan unfold and Joseph becomes a key figure in G-d’s story.
