Mapping the Exodus

Mapping the Exodus

This past week at Shabbat School, we started the book of Shemot (Exodus).

We began to give the account of one of the most important stories for the people of Israel to this day: the start of the Hebrews’ freedom from captivity in Egypt and G‑d’s care and provision during the Exodus. More than just a biblical story, we want our children to understand that these were real events in real places; that’s why, over the next three weeks, we will work with a map that the children will paint with watercolor and finish by adding labels to represent the start of the Exodus story. If you have children and haven’t visited our congregation yet, we invite your little ones to join us and enjoy this fascinating adventure.

Next week we will head into the story of Moses coming and asking Pharaoh to let Adonai’s people go!
