Cleaning the House, Pt 1
So it’s time to clean the house…. No, not just because it is spring— which it is—but because Pesach, or Passover, is fast approaching. The day of Passover is immediately followed by the Feast of Unleavened Bread, a time rich in significance for us in Messiah. So, yes, we concentrate on the spiritual significance of the search for and removal of “leaven” from our homes.…
In the Wilderness
This past week in Shabbat School, we learned about being fair and unfair to others and how when we are fair to others, we are showing that we trust ADONAI. Next week, we begin the book of Bamidbar or Numbers.
Faces of the Kingdom: Sarah
Has there ever been a time where you can not imagine that you will get the one thing that you so desperately long for…even if God has promised it to you? Something that seems to be so unattainable that you laugh, maybe not even on purpose or out loud, at the idea of it actually happening… Sarah’s story is one of the most human moments in all of Scripture — the story…
Faces of the Kingdom: Daniel
What would you do if faithfulness to God became illegal? There was an old man, who had no army, no political protection, and no way out… and he was facing a law specifically designed to destroy him. But how did he respond to this dire situation? In a truly ordinary but at the same time, quite remarkable, way… Who was Daniel? In Hebrew, Daniyel (דָנִיֵּאל) means “God is my…
Taking Away Our Sins
In Shabbat School this last week we learned about how important being grateful is from the story of Yeshua healing ten lepers. Only one of the lepers was grateful enough to return to Yeshua and thank him. This coming Shabbat, we continue with the Torah portion that explains Yom Kippur and we learn about removing our sins.
Faces of the Kingdom: Gideon
Welcome back to our “Faces of the Kingdom” series! Today, we’re getting to know a man that you might not already know that well—a man who was hiding in a winepress when God called him a mighty warrior and brought before him a very important mission… Picture this: a man is crouched in a hole in the ground, secretly beating wheat so that his enemies won’t…
Being Grateful
Last Shabbat we learned the ways ADONAI taught His people to identify which animals were good to eat and which were not. Then we played a game to classify all the plastic toy animals ion our classroom. Did you know grasshoppers are good to eat? This next Shabbat we will learn about being grateful using a story of some men who had tza’arat (lepers).

Learning about Clean and Unclean Animals
In Shabbat School last week, we explored the plagues of the Passover story. We learned how Adonai’s deliverance of B’nei Yisrael from Egypt demonstrated that He alone was the one true G‑d. This Shabbat we return to the portions in Leviticus to learn about “clean” and “unclean”.

Faces of the Kingdom: Miriam
Welcome back to our “Faces of the Kingdom” series! We’re meeting another young woman who played a very influential role in the Bible…and this time, it’s one who had no title, no army, and no miracle at her disposal, yet was the human instrument God used to set the entire Exodus in motion. Her story reveals that God doesn’t require a platform, a plan, or a position as…
