Cleaning the House, Pt 1

So it’s time to clean the house…. No, not just because it is spring— which it is—but because Pesach, or Passover, is fast approaching. The day of Passover is immediately followed by the Feast of Unleavened Bread, a time rich in significance for us in Messiah. So, yes, we concentrate on the spiritual significance of the search for and removal of “leaven” from our homes.…

Being Grateful

Last Shabbat we learned the ways ADONAI taught His people to identify which animals were good to eat and which were not. Then we played a game to classify all the plastic toy animals ion our classroom. Did you know grasshoppers are good to eat?     This next Shabbat we will learn about being grateful using a story of some men who had tza’arat (lepers).

Faces of the Kingdom: Miriam

Welcome back to our “Faces of the Kingdom” series! Faces of the Kingdom: Moses

Today we’ll meet a man who was completely unqualified by every human standard, and yet became the instrument through which God delivered Bnei-Yisrael from their slavery in Egypt. He was a stuttering fugitive, a wanted man, a shepherd hiding at the edge of the wilderness; and yet he was the one that God chose to confront the most powerful empire on earth… Moses…

Serving the LORD

Last week at Shabbat School we learned that G‑d has given His people the Shabbat as a sign, not just to separate the day for Him, but also as a reminder that He wants a special relationship with us. We want the kids to understand in today’s life how we can please G‑d by keeping the Shabbat in a practical way. Next week, in our portion Vayak’hel, we will be learning…
